this past weekend was a special one; we celebrated kayla's 3rd birthday and it was a huge success. it was a tad frantic for me and hubs as we ran around making sure everything was ok so that left little time to mingle or eat but fun was had by all. now for the pictures....

kayla was so pooped from the party that she kept asking to go to sleep and headed straight upstairs on her own to take a nap. a three year old asking to go to sleep and going to bed without a fuss? unheard of. especially when she had a sea of presents to rip into.
the fun continued that afternoon when some friends came over for a playdate which ended up turning into an impromtu bbq so not only did kayla have fun but mommy and daddy did too!

kayla's birthday weekend continued through sunday so we headed to canada's wonderland for some fun and met up with some friends and their kids.
look at these two. right in front of the camera... kids these days are shameless :D
the weekend ended with a birthday dinner at the in-laws complete with (more) cake, goodies and another present. it's good to be a three year old these days!
a wonderful weekend spent with wonderful family and friends.
